CanUX Accommodations Options

While CanUX 2024 does not endorse any one hotel over the others, we only want to guide our out-of-town guests towards the options that make most sense for their individual preferences. We have chosen three options on both sides of the river, in Gatineau and Ottawa, that we feel could be great home bases for our conference attendees, each with it own unique value proposition.

Speaker hotel: The Lord Elgin Hotel

Pro tip: If you’re trying to maximize sleeping in, the Four Points by Sheraton Gatineau is a 30 second walk from our CanUX venue. If you plan on visiting the city’s tourist attractions, we would recommend booking our speaker hotel, The Lord Elgin, which although a bit more expensive, it is a historic 4 star hotel located in the heart of Ottawa, walking distance from the vibrant entertainment areas of Byward Market and Elgin Street. And who knows, you may even may run into some of our out of town speakers while you are there. If you want a more affordable option, only a 5 min walk from the CanUX venue, but also a 10 min walk over the Alexandria Bridge to Ottawa’s entertainment district, the Best Western Plus Gatineau may be your best option.

Four Points by Sheration Gatineau

The redesigned Four Points by Sheraton Gatineau hotel is located across the street from our conference venue, making it the perfect combination of convenience and comfort. The hotel features free high-speed Wi-Fi, a fitness centre and an indoor heated pool that is saltwater treated, so it’s less stressful on hair, clothing and skin. With a unique historic wall as a backdrop, the pool can be a refreshing follow-up to workout, or the perfect place to relax at the end of the day.

The Lord Elgin Hotel

Best Western Plus Gatineau

The Best Western Plus Gatineau hotel is ideally located a 5 minute walk from the CanUX venue and a convenient 10-minute pedestrian cross-over to Ottawa’s Byward Market. It is the only waterfront property that offers breathtaking views overlooking Parliament Hill and the Gatineau Hills, and is close to many tourist attractions, notably the National Art Gallery of Canada, the Royal Canadian Mint, Jaques-Cartier Park, the Canadian Museum of History, and the Convention Centre. The hotel has 133 affordable, non-smoking rooms and suites
