Benchmarking Screen Reader Accessibility in User Research
} Nov 3, 2023 TBA / 30 MINUTES
UX researchers employ the System Usability Scale to measure usability, but it doesn’t effectively capture data for assistive technology users. Fable’s Accessibility Usability Scale (AUS) metric and comprehensive research offers to complement the UX research space when it comes to measuring usability for assistive technology users, particularly when it comes to usability trends uncovered for screen reader technology.
In this talk, Elana will reveal the AUS, a psychometric survey that is both easy-to-understand and free to use. Unlike other evaluations, the AUS offers numerical scores that require little subject matter expertise, making it accessible to everyone. She’ll explain how to use it, and how its scores complement SUS scores to improve accessibility for people who use assistive technology.
