Jonas Woost joins our 2014 lineup
CBC Music’s Jonas Woost brings West coast Canadian content to UXCamp 2014!
UX in Public Broadcasting: CBCMusic.ca Case Study
Sunday, Nov 9, 9:40am / 30 MINUTES
Jonas will talk through the development of CBC Music, Canada’s biggest digital music service. He will explain the challenges and opportunities of applying good UX in a multi-stakeholder universe and will outline some of the unique aspect of building digital products at the CBC.
Speaker Bio: Jonas Woost
Jonas Woost is the Managing Editor at CBC Music, Canada’s free digital music service. His career as a music and media executive started by working for multinational record labels such as Ministry of Sound (London, UK) and PIAS Recordings (Hamburg, Germany), before he assumed the role of Head of Music at the digital music start-up Last.fm in 2005, and then moving to Vancouver to join CBC Music in 2010.
While he insists that he’s not a UXer, we’d argue that you don’t attract 1.2 loyal Canadian music fans every month by UX-ident. (Sorry. Sorry!) Jonas has spent his time at CBC juggling the needs of the CBC as a whole with the needs of passionate music fans, talking to these fans and gathering insight from their feedback, and deciding what problems CBC Music could and should solve to benefit their listeners and the organization. (If that’s not UX, what is?)
So, join me in welcoming Jonas as an honorary member of our UX community!
