Wanna party? All Hail the CanUX Afterparty!

A big bash is in the works following the Saturday main program at CanUX.

FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER: THE CANUX PARTY

One of the questions we asked in all our post-conference surveys in past years is “What would you like to see at next year’s event”. Last year, a large number of our participants have asked for a Saturday night social event to keep the group from dispersing and maintain the energy of the conference. So we went to work this year to create a social event that compliments our main stage talks, and we’re absolutely stoked to announce the first ever CanUX afterparty, taking place in the Grand Hall of the Museum of Civilization shortly after the completion of the Saturday made program (the exact timing and details will be made public at the end of October).

Why did we choose the Grand Hall? Let’s start with the fact that it is one of Canada’s most impressive indoor public spaces, offering a magnificent, curving, six-storey window wall with unrivalled views of Parliament Hill – undoubtedly the Museum’s architectural centrepiece. Visitors will have a chance to discover a Pacific Coast shoreline and boardwalk, a collection of amazing full size native totem poles, the original plaster pattern for Spirit of Haida Gwaii by celebrated Haida artist Bill Reid, and the Raven Bringing Light to the World, a gold-on-bronze sculpture by Robert Davidson.

The best part about the party is that it is offered complimentary for CanUX attendees and sponsors, so we encourage you to stick around after our main program on Saturday and mingle with your fellow Canadian UXers. Who knows, you might even find a business partner or three. If you cannot attend CanUX, but would like to attend our social event, you can join us only for the party for $15 (which includes a drink ticket), so head on out and get yours on our tickets page . Our speakers, attendees, sponsors and organizers will all be there.
